EVENT INFORMATION
Help us kick off National Engineers Week with a fun winter running event!
Leave it up to engineers to plan a 5K run/walk event in the dead of winter. With winter at its height on the beautiful campus of Ohio University, you're in for a run to remember: the 2008 Engineers Frostbite 5K on Sunday, February 17, 2008!
Nationwide, engineers and academic institutions celebrate Engineers Week (E-Week) in a variety of ways. This year in Athens, Pickering Associates, the Russ College of Engineering and Technology and a host of adventurous partners are kicking off E-Week (February 17-23, 2008) with a run you won’t want to miss. The spring running season is quickly approaching -- what better way to gear up and get a head start on your spring running plans!
Who is the fastest group on campus?
Ohio University student organizations, show those other students who’s boss! Any recognized student organization at Ohio University can register to win special prizes. Beat your competing student organizations while braving the February frostbite! To qualify, your student organization must enter at least THREE runners in the event. The student group with the best average time for their participants wins special long-sleeve t-shirts (in addition to the entrant shirt), medals, and a plaque recognizing their feat! (No age or gender designations for groups.) Russ College student groups are already staking their claim on victory!
Everyone is welcome to join in the fun!
The Engineers Frostbite 5K will be a fun event for every pace and person. Whether you run track for your high school, run after your preschooler, or prefer the winter walk—this is the winter event for you! Ohio University students can roll out of bed on Sunday morning and be at the start on Richland Avenue in no time. Get used to seeing your breath before your face, because we will scurry, dart or dash through the cold course no matter the weather!
